About Us

St Bede’s Childcare recognised the need for parents to have access to high quality childcare as the pilot for Childminder Agencies was introduced by the Department for Education in 2013. Through working in partnership with the Department, Ofsted and 4children, St Bede is now ready to register as one of the country’s first agencies on the 1st and 8 out of school clubs throughout Wigan, Leigh and Bolton.

“ All of our venues are rated Good with 5 being rated Outstanding with Ofsted.”

St Bede Childminding Agency is beginning to recruit childminders within their local authorities and want to emphasise that, with their support and expertise, both newly recruited and experienced childminders can gain the knowledge and understanding they need to provide quality care to their children and families.

St.Bedes Child Minding AgencyThis will be done through a specific training package delivered by our well experienced and qualified agency managers, using our onsite facilities. Agency Manager, Kimberley Dearden said “we know there are excellent childminders out there and we want to work with them and encourage them to also join the agency to further their careers prospects and knowledge within the early years sector”.

With opportunities to access resources on site that the group can offer such as a sensory room, IT support, training in all areas such as EYFS, SENCO and much more, St Bede’s feel they have the ideal agency model to support childminders wanting both basic and intensive support for their business.

Using their ‘pick and mix’ style package, childminders can choose more than the basic package, depending on their existing level of expertise, and their need for further support; this could be through working with parents, behaviour management, or even support with invoicing and fee collection or debt management.

As a growing company, St Bede Childcare is able to offer sickness and holiday cover for parents and childminders alike, to provide continuity of care and peace of mind. Also, during slower periods of work we can offer the opportunity for bank work at one of our venues, providing a continued income for the childminders.

St Bede has been committed to the CMA agenda and worked really hard with the Department for Education, 4children and local authorities to reach the stage where they hope they will be one of the very first CMAs to open soon after the 1st September 2014.  We currently operate 6 nurseries September 2014.
